I have had a clogged feeling in my left ear for a week now which I think started with a bad head cold I got 2 weeks ago. I went to an audiologist and she said there is no fluid or infection but that my eardrum is swollen. I have no pain but it is driving me crazy. Is there anything I can do to help take the swelling down
Since the audiologist has already examined and told you that the ear drum is swollen and there is no fluid or infection, I would advise you the following in such a case: - Get started on an anti-inflammatory that suits you like Ibuprofen in proper dose and duration - Also take decongestant - Do not instil anything in ear - Do not blow nose
If there is improvement continue the treatment for at least 7 days. Take a second opinion of an ENT Surgeon if required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
