What Is The Remedy For The Severe Cough With Low Grade Fever And Headache?

My daughter has had a really bad cough. She's had it for about a week now, and it's not going away. She's starting to develop a low grade fever and a headache. Now when she coughs, it's coming from the chest and she coughs to the point where she can't catch her breath.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe cough with low grade fever and headache . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to condition called bronchitis . Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes, which carry air to and from your lungs. I would suggest you to consult chest specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order chest X-ray , sputum tests and pulmonary function test and blood test to rule out sinusitis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , cough suppressants , inhaler and other medications to reduce inflammation and open narrowed passages in lungs . Take steam thrice a day and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
