What Is The Remedy For The Sunburn With Blisters On The Shoulders?
I have a sunburn with blisters on my shoulders and i am waiting for that to heal but now i have an uncontrollable itch and its driving me insane... I have taken a shower to see if that helps it but it did not... any advice? I have taken Ibuprofen and benidryll to help but no luck
Acute sunburn can be very painful and discomforting. A sunburn resolves with skin peeling/desquamation. Itching is a feature during the resolution phase.
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest you to take a short course of an oral steroids. Oral steroids are antiinflammatory, act rapidly and immediately bring down the discomfort.
In addition to that you could use topical moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone propionate cream, twice daily for a week.
An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily would provide you symptomatic relief from itching
Be careful next time and always use a broad spectrum sunscreen, throughout the day, next time you venture out in the sun
regards
