What Is The Remedy Of Ear Blockage ?

Hello.I recently cleaned my right ear with a qtip and now I can't hear.the only way I can hear is using headphone s for music.n the volume can be highest but I hear it very very low....I tried peroxide and I tried a liquid.used to soften ear wax 1 time.I'm afraid of going deaf.my health insurance doesn't kick in for another 2-3 week's...what do I do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of ear blockage. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to eustachian tube dysfunction. It usually occur due to spread of infection from upper respiratory track infection through eustachian tube in case it is left untreated for long time or low immunity. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without delay otherwise it can spread to middle and inner ear and complicate the condition . Doctor may order throat swab test , CT scan , viral culture test , blood test and examination with otoscope to rule out condition like pulsatile tinnitus . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , decongestant , expectorant along with anti inflammatory . For now take steam twice a day and do warm saline gargles .
