i AM ALMOST 99 YEARS OLD AND HEALTH IS GOOD.I HAVE HAD A COUPLE EPISODES OF HEMMORHOIDS AND HAVE A FEAR OF CONSTIPATION.. i TAKE ABOUT 3 SOF-JELS EVERY DAY. AND USE GLYCERIN SUPPOSITORIES SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK TO GET THINGS GOING . iS THERE ANY DANGER IN OVERUSE OF SUPPOSITORIES? I WEIGH 95 LBS.

Hi,

Long term use of glycerin suppository can cause loss of normal bowel movements making the body dependent on glycerin suppositories and you may not be able to pass stools without the suppositories. These may damage the bowel walls and may cause problem in the water and salt amount in the body which may also result in malnutrition.
