What Is The Rough Patch Just Below The Glans?

I was giving my husband oral sex and my lip rubbed over a nickel sized dry patch right under his glans. He said it did not hurt and he had not noticed it before. I continued with the oral but noticed that the one dry patch just became like a low grade sandpaper. What could it be? It is flesh colored, no pain, no itching. Never had one before.

It may be syphilitic patch
Do investigation to exclude syphilis
Both partner
Then consult with a dermatologist for further managemebt
