What Is The Scarring On The Top Of Head Of A New Born Known As?

Hi, when I was pregnant with my daughter I end up overdue (41wks 5days). After being induced it was found I had low fluid levels.. my daughter was born with the sac over her face.. When pulled back it was found she has a large area of scarring/ indentation on the top of her head where no hair grows (she is 3, & still no growth) I m just wondering if there is a name for this type of scarring?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Complication during child birth is unlikely to stop the growth of hair in the baby.
Any cause which destroys the hair roots is likely to stop hair growth permanently.
Are the hair absent on the scalp or on entire body?
If the hair are absent on entire body, an ectodermal defect is suspected.
If the hair are absent only on the scalp then some local agent is responsible for it.
I suggest you to consult a dermatologist (skin specialist) for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and this treatment.

Thanks and take care
