What Is The Solution For Gastric Problem And Weakness After Dengue?

Hi Doctor, I am 29 male, height 5"10, weight 62kgs. Recently I suffered from dengue 23rd Sep, 2011 to 1st Oct, 2011, which is cured now but I have not coped well with Gastric problem & weakness sometimes. Can you pls suggest me some good medicines for this.

This is very common problem after treatment of dengue . This is known as hyper acidity or gastritis . Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks. it also might help to avoid eating or drinking for 2 hours before you lie down . As in your case due to dengue or fever or drugs ( used in the treatment ) you developed gastritis ,hence avoid over eating , greasy or spicy foods , also avoid eating chocolates or drinks with caffeine in them . Don't take alcohol as this is a predisposing factor of gastritis .
As far as concerned about weakness , gradually you will recover from weakness.
When such patient visit I prescribe them to take high protein diet with protein syrup available at chemist shop.
Now a days good protein powder also available so dissolve this powder 2 T S F in milk or water and take twice in day for few days .
