Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently had a stiff/sore neck (left side) been light headed and had one terrible headache on my left side. I am 34 years old, 5 11 and weugh 225. I have 3 small children and have just started working out again. I am assuming it is the workouts but when my neck starts hurting I feel as if I cannot even move my head at all. Do you just recommend taking some Tylenol and how long should the symptoms continue before seeing a doctor?
It is a sprain or cervical spondylitis. Apply warm compression and take drugs like gabapentin for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
