What Is The Solution Of Extremely Dry And Red Eyes?
hi. my friend and i are far away from medical care and without a running vehicle right now....he was working on a car and got carb cleaner sprayed in his eyes about 6 hours ago. We rinsed his eyes with clean water for over 15 minutes, but light is hurting him very much and his eyes are VERY red and he can only keep them open for 10-15 seconds at a time and he says they burn really bad....we rinse with more water about every half hour or so....he says they are so dry...do we use more water......visine....?? Someone wont be out to pick us up until tomorrow....
Hello It deems from the history car cleaner splashed into his eyes following which he is having pain and redness. This indicates damage to the eyes in the form of eoithelial defects. First thing to be done is thorough eye wash as you have done already. Any foreign bodies needs to be removed. Treatment is by using antibiotic eye drops, lubricants and analgesic drugs. Since the condition looks serious you require treatment under ophthalmologist supervision.
Thank you
