What Is The String Of Skin Hanging Out From Vagina After Delivering?

I just gave vaginal birth 4 weeks ago and I had stitches as well. I noticed I have a raw looking piece of meat/skin hanging on the outer labia where a stitch may have been. Im also having an irregular smell and im not sure if the smell is from the skin or the old blood. This my first child and I would like answers before I panic. Thanks
