What Is The Success Rate For Valvular Heart Surgery?
Hi, I was wondering what are the chances of dying in heart surgery. My close friend says that he has to get surgery for his heart. He says the doctor would have to remove tissue and clear or remove some of his valves and replace them with artificial ones. I was wondering what are the chances of him dying during the surgery? :(
Well my dear friend, our science and expertise of cardiac surgeons have improved so much that these days major open heart surgeries are done routinely.most of them perform 3 to 4 surgeries a day.so your friend will definitely do well.however there is definite risk of 1 in 10,000 in best centers.so it like flying in best air line and worry about accident!!!! my best wishes.
