You must try to reduce weight. Set goals for weight loss. Losing weight will help in controlling blood pressure. Eat a healthy low fat diet. Briskwalk for 30 minutes in a day 5 times a week. Avoid butter, ghee and salted and processed foods as they will increase blood pressure and cholesterol. Have foods in their natural form like fresh fruits and vegetables as raw salads. Choose healthier cooking methods and use a non-stick pan for low fat cooking. Use not more than 3-4 tsp of oil for cooking per person per day. Cut down on your salt intake to not more than 5gm or 1 leveled tsp per day. Manage daily stress by meditating, deep breathing exercises or engaging in activities that you enjoy. Hope this answers your query and gives you a clear idea about what you need to do to nip the problem in the bud.
