What Is The Suggestion For Persistent Coughing?

from sep 2011 i'm having cough which lasts for 15 to 20 days and repeats again and again within four months. now in sep 2012 it lasts for 2 months. all tests are normal. fed up taking tablets and syrups, changing doctors again today my throat is paining. first 2 to 3 days it pains then cough starts. please help

I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of recurrent viral URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) is more.
You are having pain in throat first and than cough, this clearly suggest URTI.
For avoidance of this recurrent episodes, I advice you to take Influenza vaccine annually.
Influenza is the most common virus causing URTI.
So if you have taken vaccine against it, frequent episodes can be prevented.
Protection is usually for 1 year and so it should be repeated annually.
This will prevent frequent need of cough syrup and drugs.
