What Is The Survival Rate In A Patient With Broken Ribs And Punctured Lungs?

Following a 40 feet fall, all ribs broken on right side, two punctured lungs, crushed pelvis, broken arm, brain bleeding now stopped. Stable, but on life support in ICU. What are percentages of survival? 40/60? 10/90? I do not know if the aorta or other major organs were damaged....must be though, for life support.

Thanks for your question on HCM. In trauma patient when more and more organs are involved, the chances of survivor is decreasing. One can not exactly hive you any number about survivor. It is the time, which will answer your question. Out of all injuries you mentioned most worrisome is bleeding in the brain. Punctured lung can be treated, broken ribs will be healed but brain damage has very very less chance of recovery. In poly trauma patient prognosis changes daily. So think positive and keep faith in the treatment.
