What Is The Survival Rate Of Meningitis?

I have a question about Meningitis,I know a girl has this disease shes 2 and half years old, once the girl had the fever her parents took her to the hospital five hours later the doctors took her to the ICU and she cant breath the doctors said they might cut her leg 95% they would do the surgery however the latest tests result said that her brain did not effect, my question is how many percent the girl has chance to live? and how can we protect our children from this disease?
