What Is The Treatment For A Large Bump On The Penis?

There was a large bump on the shaft of my penis! I tried to pop it when i did the skin on the top of the bump came off! A green mucus glob came out of the bump now there is a hole on the shaft of my penis. It s bleeding also my testicles looked a little gross. They look like paper and the skin was peeling which then caused a scar. I was told this might be jock itch

There are many possible reasons for a bump over the penis but I will cover the 3 most important ones -

- Skin bumps or rash due to friction
- Fungal Infection
- STD

A skin bump or rash due to friction is seen when one wears tight clothes or sweats a lot.

This can cause some swelling as the skin gets injured. This can cause swelling and some bleeding. If the swelling persists, there may be a greenish pus that can form as well.

A fungal infection of the crotch which is also known as tinea cruris can present with some bumps. However, there would likely be some itching as well. Rarely, some pus may form which can be green in color.

STDs or sexually transmitted diseases can happen when one has unprotected sexual intercourse. They can present in various ways. Getting this diagnosed would need an STD panel test.

To rule out other causes, you would need an in person examination. Based on the diagnosis, the doctor would suggest either antifungals or a skin conditioning cream to help.
