What Is The Treatment For A Large Lump In The Chin?

My son has large lump on side of shin (inwards lower leg front), resulting from kick while wrestling in school match. It's about 5" x 5" . Raised up about a 1". We have been to see two doctors, neither think it is infected. It's not getting any bigger or smaller. How long until the fluid from this type of injury goes away?

hello! usually the fluid in your son's case is due to blood pooling (hematoma). The fluid takes about 2-4 weeks before it completely resolves. the complication of not taking out the fluid is infection. I suggest you place warm compress in the area for 15mins, 3x/day, to help the fluid soften and be absorbed by the body. if it persist and gets red, consult your doctor, it might be an infection already.
