What Is The Treatment For A Red Spot In The Eye?

My son is 23 months old, yesterday morning i noticed a red spot in his right eye. Today it is still there and it has grown. I have tried ringing my doctor but the surgery is closed for the afternoon. I just wanted to know if it is something worrying or not. I am proberly just a paranoid mum but i have also noticed that in recent photos of my son, his eyes are always red? I watched a programme which said this could indicate something serious? Please could you advise me and put my mind at rest.

it is only red spot or associated with discharge. why are you thinking of surgery, it can be subconjuctival hemorrhagic spot. may be self inflicted while sleeping or it can be cough. any way it is self limiting no treatment is requered .
