Stomach problems. Hey there. I m a 25 year old female. For the past... Well, year... I ve had horrible stomach problems and now it s getting worse. I have terrible pain in my abdomen, mostly on the left side. I can t keep down much food, I m basically down to noodles or rice with margarine. Apart from that I ve had a terrible migraine and neck pain for almost 4 days. I went to a hospital about a month ago... They said they had no idea what was wrong with me, but that it might be diverticulitis. The long and short of it is, they gave me oxycontin for the pain and sent me home. Probably because I don t have insurance. I m almost at the point of going back to the hospital.... Help?
I. Insurance or no insurance = the pain in abdomen of such a severity and duration should be investigated. Minimum you need is an examination by a Doctor, ultrasonography to rule out ovarian and nodal and other problems, a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole for 5 days. If necessary colonoscopy. Left sided pains can be due to colitis( large bowel inflammation) , ureter , kidney or ovarian cyst or so.
