What Is The Treatment For Acute Appendicitis?

i am a 35 year old Women living in Huffman TX. I was recently dx with acute appendicitis, however after being admitted to the NEMH hospital, staying 4 days with IV antibiotics, i was sent home without surgery. The surgeon told me surgery at this point would be too invasive, and we needed to wait 6 weeks and schedule appendectomy. Should I get a second opinion?
