Rather a lot of methods to treat alcoholism these days. the first and most difficult feature is having people admit there is a problem Confrontation is not likely to work well, but presenting issues that they are having in life and asking if they think it might be associated with aocohol use is often effective.
If someone is willing to quit, then 12 step programs, naloxone and Acamprosate also reduces relapse rates and increases abstinence rates
