What Is The Treatment For Ankle Pain?

The fronts of my ankles (both, but the left worse than the right) burn when I walk. It doesn't matter if I start out slow (walk several miles at a slower rate) or stretch before I begin walking. They hurt, no matter what! To the point I was only able to walk 30 minutes last night before I was in tears! What could the problem be?
