Hi I have ankgolizing sponyolitis (sic) plus crohns, vasculitis and pern anemia, also addisons and thyroid problems. I take sulfalazine 4000mgs daily and am waiting to start anti tnf. My crohns is under control fom the meds but my GGT levels are rising and ive started to feel sick (I was taken off Immuran when same thing happened) GGT levels are only at 133 but Im worried liver is being affected again and I ll be taken off it? I cant bear my crohns to flare
If you are intolerant to sulfalazine, Sulfa-free aminosalicylate formulations, alternative azo-bonded carriers, 5-ASA dimers, and delayed-release and controlled-release preparations, like Olsalazine, alsalazide, delayed-release Mesalamine, controlled-release Mesalamine can be used.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
