What Is The Treatment For Anxiety After Childbirth?

I am a 40 year old woman who just had my first child (March 2013). I'm not married, work full time and live alone with my daughter. I feel quite overwhelmed at times and not sure exactly what ANXIETY feels like. I'm wondering if I need to speak to a counselor/therapist and if I need a referral from my primary doctor in order to do so. LaKeysha

Dear User,
Thanks for using health care magic.

In a single mother like you, who have very little support occurrence of a such anxiety symptoms is a very common phenomenon. They take time to overcome such symptoms.
In my view your consideration for professional help is a right step as it is very difficult to deal the things once they go your out of control.
As per the rules of your health system a referral is necessary.
If you are not able to get a referral than seeking online help is another option.
I will happy to help you in case need arises.
