ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
The age factor is the problem ,he is 9 yrs old .
You should consult an ENT specialist and get examined as he needs to undergo a few tests like aided audiometry which can suggest that he will be benefited for not.
Then there are radiological investigations to get the inside of the brain to know the condition of the nerve and inner ear . Depending on the tests result it can be suggested that he will be benefited or not.
I would suggest not to waste time now anymore and get the tests done .
In doubt do reply.
