What Is The Treatment For Bleeding During Pregnancy?
Hi, I am 29 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding since about 12 weeks and I have just been advised that I have a cervical polyp, could you advise me if this would have an impact on a normal delivery. 2 years ago I had a Lletz treatment too and although the polyp cannot be removed, as I believe, until after the birth, am worried it could possibly be malignant or are they just fleshy benign bits of growth skin? I look forward to your response. Thank you - Dee
Cervical polyp in young women are usually benign so you need not worry about them. The only concern is it could lead to recurrent vaginal bleeding in pregnancy which could be bothersome.
You can go for removal of polyp after delivery. They will not obstruct labour in any way ,so you can go for a vaginal delivery. After removal do make sure the doctor sends the polyp for a pathological examination, to know what type it was.
Hope this helps. Regards.
