I can understand your concern for bump in the groin area right above the hair. It appears that you have developed folliculitis or inflammation of the hair root at the affected area.
In my patients with such problem I prefer to give topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or fucidin to apply over the affected area. A pain killer tablet such as ibuprofen or paracetamol helps in relieving pain.
You can wait for 48 hours. If the swelling gets reduced then can follow the same other wise you may require oral antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin or cefadroxil under medical guidance.
DO not try to touch or pinch the area as it can get secondarily infected.
Hope it helps.
