What Is The Treatment For Colles Fracture?

My mother had colles fracture after a fall 7 weeks ago. She was in a cast for 6 weeks. The cast was taken off 5 days ago and she still has pain and swelling. (just started PT yesterday.) Dr. said xray showed bone healed well. Is the pain and swelling normal after all this time?
