What Is The Treatment For Discharge From Nipple?

I am a breastfeeding mom. My nipples are dry, cracked, flaky and itching horribly. I also secreted a creamy white cottage cheese like discharge from one nipple while pumping. Do I have candida yeast infection on my nipples. I cannot take fluconazole as I have impaired kidney functions.

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, it could be due to fungal infection caused by fungus. Drink a lot of warm water and soft diet and take anti-fungal medicine for the same (kidney friendly medicine).

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
