Hello, Four days ago my ear was hit very hard. As soon as I was hit, I heard a ringing sound and my ear hurt a lot. After about 5 minutes the ringing went away but I couldn t hear anything. Four days later I still can t hear anything and this yellowish liquid and blood are coming out of it. In fact, it seems as more time goes on the more fluid is coming out of my ear. My ear is also extremely painful and I have to keep taking ibuprofen and acetaminophen to be able to deal with the pain. What could this be?
hi. With the history of hard hit to the head and Ringing and loss of hearing with discharge the following things be looked into Urgently. High resolution CT scan of the brain and the Ears to see the extent of fracture of the mastoid bone, damage to the internal structures and possible connection between the CSF and the external ear. Audiometry to know the type of healing loss MRI for the Vestibulo-cochlear nerve. Facial nerve palsy, hemiparesis and examination of the all cranial nerves. I would advisethe following: no blowing of the nose No ear drops ENT Endoscopy and related tests Antibiotic cover Anti-inflammatory medicines. Neurologist's opinion if required.
