What Is The Treatment For Early Menstrual Period?

Hi. I am a healthy 26 year old. My lmp was July 12th. I came home to my husband from vacation on the 23rd and have been sexually active pretty much everyday since then. I am not on any bc and my period usually comes around every 27-28 days, so I found it odd to wake up yesterday morning to some sort of light pink/brown bleeding. This has seemed I come and go, mainly when I wipe. My question is could this be my period coming over a week early. I should be due august 8-9 if I count right, so I m 10 days early. Any ideas?

Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.

Bleeding a week before the date when your next period is due may be either due to an early period, which is not very unusual even when you have regular periods. As this is the first occurence, I would not suggest you any treatment. Most likely given your background history of regular periods, this could be an isolated incident. Your next 1-2 cycles may be a bit irregular though. If this is a regular occurence, then you may need to take a hormonal preparation.

Bleeding a week before your period (or if you put it in a different way, a week after ovulation in a 28 day cycle female) could also mean an implantation bleed, i.e. the fertilized egg is trying to implant into the uterus. So, if your next period is delayed ( that means if you do not have any bleeding next week), kindly do a pregnancy test there are chances that you could be pregnant.

I hope this answer has helped you.

Thank you
