What Is The Treatment For Elevated RA And Asthma?

I was recently told that I have an elevated RA and that I need to see a specialist. I have recently developed a chest cold and have asthma. My friend who has RA said that I should be seen by a doctor because my body may not have the ability to fight off infection. What should I do?
