What Is The Treatment For Encephalitic Diagnosed Through Spinal Tap?

my dad was first hospitilized with encephelystic,which was diagnosed thru a spinal tap, then had a 5 hr surgery, becuz they think the blood from the spinal tap bled into his spine up the spine 16 centimeters. They drained that and he was geting better, Came thru 2 boughts of pnemonia and has been in the hospital 75 days. Was in rehad for 2 weeks and now was rushed back to ICU with pnemonia on 15 liters of oxygen and doctors are asking us to make a decision, if it gets worse shoud we put him on a ventilater as he is so weak they are not sure his body can fight this 3rd bought with pnemonia? What should we do and what saint should I pray to?
