Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I just measured my pulse and blood pressure and am a little worried. While having a pulse of 86, my blood pressure was only 44. I feel a little dizzy, light-headed and tired. Am I in acute danger? I've had issues with tachychardia for about 4 years now. It gets extra bad when I have exams or am stressed. In order to not have a racing heart during my exam today, I took one beta-blocker before going to sleep, and one in the morning before school. Was this too much? Is it dangerous in any way?
I understand your concern but i would like to tell you that its just your stress and anxiety thats troubling you. You are mentioning your blood pressure to be just 40 mmhg which is quite low.
Its not at all advisable to take any cardiac medicine without your doctors advise as it can be harmful to you infact no medicine should be taken without consulting your doctor.
Yes it could be dangerous as it can significantly lower down your heart rate and BP making you go unconscious.
Exams come and go just relax and you will do good but even then if you find yourself helpless in controlling your anxiety I would like to suggest you to take some anti anxiety medicine in low dose for just 5 days and consult your doctor personally for a written prescription.
I Wish you Good Luck
