What Is The Treatment For Fluid In The Ear?

I have a sinus infection and am on antibiotics. I have fluid on my ears. Last night, I was cleaning out my ear with a q tip....I know I should not but my ear was itching....and now my ear is muffled. Have I damaged my ear in some way? What should I do? Thank you!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have fluid in ear which is due to sinus infection. Need not to worry. You should not use qtip as there are chances you have ruptured ear drum. I would suggest you to take nasal sprays and do warm saline gargles. You should take antibiotic Axicillin in combination with antiallergic medication Levocetrizine. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get otoscopic examination done and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid touching a pricking it with any sharp object. Drink plenty of fluids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
