What Is The Treatment For Fracture In The Rib Cage?

My brother fell down hard 3 weeks ago. He bruised or cracked his middle and lower ribs on the left side but did not seek medical advice. He did wrap his ribs.



This week he went to urgent care for cough and fever. He was diagnoised with bronchitis and put on a z pack. However, he never told anyone about his rib injury.



My brother is a bit of a hermit and I wasn't able to go to urgent care with him. He asked for his symptoms to be treated without giving the doctor the entire picture. Is this information important enough that I should take him to his regular doctor to be reevaluated?
