What Is The Treatment For Giant Cell Arteritis?

I was diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis last November. I am on Prednisolone now down to 5 mg a day and Methotrexate 15mg once a week. I am suffering many side effects, including hair loss, hot sweats, rashes, muscular loss and general apathy. I am a 77 year old woman who has been very healthy all my life. I am also caring for my husband who has Alzheimers. I do not have a specialist since I live in the ACT and their lists are full. I am willing to go to Sydney for a consultation.
