I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
I agree with your doctor on increasing the doses of your antihypertensive drugs.
From the other hand, as your blood pressure is still not under control, I would recommend making further changes, like adding hydroclorthiazide 12.5 to 25mg in the morning, which would help manage better your blood pressure.
Some lifestyle modifications would also be helpful:
- reduce salt intake
- perform a lot of physical activity
- reduce weight if you are
overweight.
Some blood lab tests (
complete blood count,
thyroid hormone levels, blood electrolytes, fasting
glucose, kidney and liver function tests) are necessary to exclude possible secondary causes of
high blood pressure.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
