General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Antibiotics will be the first line management and a short course of antibiotics must be started for five to seven days preferably amoxicillin.Warm saline gargles can provide symptomatic relief. Avoid cold foods like ice creams. If the child experience recurrent attacks (more than five episodes per year) tonsillectomy (surgical removal of the tonsils) will be a good option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
