What Is The Treatment For Itchy Rashes And Blisters On The Skin?
I have a itchy uncomfortable rash which has blisters . it started with a few pimples but it seemed to have multiplied a little. I think the rash was caused by poison ivy or oak because I went to retrieve my golf ball which was under a tree which had an ivy covering the ground. I have been using hydrocortisone cream for 2 days , then i switched to Anti Itch cream which contains diphenhydrMINE nd zinc acetate for the last 2 DAYS and the itchy rash is still persisting. what do i do?
Hi. As per your case history you are having allergic dermatitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Avoid using any new products like soap or perfume as it may worsen the condition. 3. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily. 4. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 5. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
