I have been getting pain in my lower left leg, the only way to describe is as a "electric shock" like pain, it is sometimes very intense, so intense that it makes me scream, because of its intensity and sudden appearance, it comes and goes just unexpectedly. It is a very irritating sensation, especially because it is uncontrollable, I might be talking to someone and then the electric shock comes so I scream and bend my leg involuntarily, pretty embarrassing, I look like a crazy person. I'm 32 years old and I'm afraid this is a symptom of MS. Is it? I went to the neurologist in Denmark, where I live, but she said it was just a cramp, I had some difficulties finding her office so I came too late for her to do all the necessary tests and I actually got treated as a crazy person when I mentioned that I looked in the internet and everyone with symptoms like mine had sclerosis, then she got really angry an said I was a hypochondriac and that I only have cramps that was all, not electric shock, she had never heard of anything so crazy. So the diagnosis: "crazy" and the treatment or recommendations: "none". Nevertheless I read somewhere in the internet of something called Restless Leg Syndrome and it said that inactivity could be one of the causes and it also recommended stretching the leg. That took a while to work, or at least I think that's why the electric shocks stopped, then recently, after more that a year since this first happened (it started around December 2009), the symptoms are back. I spent 5 months in Tanzania as a volunteer, from July to November 2010, where I had to work and walk a lot, so the symptoms were almost gone, then again I though, inactivity was my problem, as it was mentioned in the page explaining Restless Leg Syndrome. I thought, probably that's why I got the electric shocks in the first place. In Tanzania I got a very weak feeling perhaps 2 or 3 times in 5 months!!! Then I went to Singapore in the beginning of December 2010 to do my final project, were I was taking the metro, but still walked a lot, and the symptoms reappeared, I could only stay in Singapore 2 months and I'm now in Vietnam, in a small city called Hoi An, I don't think there is any neurologist close by, lol, and just yesterday the electric shock was really strong. Today I feel the shocks but they are very week, nothing to make me scream or bend my leg because of the pain. I really want to get better, but in order to get better I need to know what I have, please help me, the feeling of not knowing is awful. I also read in the internet that my sciatic nerve might be compressed or irritated. I hope you have some answers. I thank you in advance for your help
