What Is The Treatment For Multiple Sclerosis?

My friend's mother was admitted to the hospital with white blood cell count of 1 and she was diagnosed with ms. She received 6 pints of blood and received a bone marrow tap. They say she is getting better but has recently admitted her to the oncology unit. No one is answering her questions as to what could be wrong can you please give any suggestions on what it could be and what she should do?
