What Is The Treatment For Numbness In The Toe?

I went to see a doctor last wednesday due to numbness on the tip of my right big toe. It has now spread to the bottom of my big toe. I haven't been able to crack my knuckle like i used to. Its really frustrating me, do you know what it can be? there is no pain, no known injury. I have been keeping away from wearing tight shoes etc..
