What Is The Treatment For Persistent Chesty Cough And Occasional Wheezing?

For 6 days now I have a persistent chesty cough which is painful, lots of mucus, sneezing, and occasional wheezing. In the morning I wake up with a sore throat.
So far I've been taking Paracetamol and Ibuprofen, Lemsip, Diffram, Benylin. I also take Vitamin C in the morning and drink pretty of fluids (honey and lemon, ginger, peppermint teas).
Whilst all the above symptoms seem to be improving, the chesty cough seems to be getting worse.
I'm 23, 5'3", otherwise healthy.

Hello
I reviewed the history. The symptoms you have mentioned like persistent cough, wheezing, sore throat... all indicate respiratory tract infection. Since you are having sneezing, occasional wheezing the symptoms indicate lower respiratory tract infection involving the lungs.
All with the above drugs which you have mentioned you also require antibiotics for treatment of infection.
Hence I advice you to consult physician for examination and treatment by antibiotics.

Thank you
