What Is The Treatment For Pimple After Stopping Levlen ED?

I was on Levlen ED for around 10yrs and was fairly happy with it. I then went off it for 3yrs but my skin went crazy and I couldnt handle it anymore. Pimples all throughout my cycle! I am now living overseas and dont have access to my usual GP so I took it upon myself to go to a Pharmacist with the Levlen ingredients. He gave me Microgynon 30 (21 tablets) which I'm hoping will get rid of my acne. I have been taking it now for 2wks and my pimples are still terible. Was this the right Pill to take for this problem? And also will this Pill cause weight gain? I've read Mercilon is good for both these side effects? Is this a good brand? It is absolutely necessary to see a doctor for this? Many thanks.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pimples after stopping Levlen ED, Well pimples are the result of excessive production of sebum from sebaceous gland. There are many factors responsible for pimples like hormonal changes ,too much oily creams ,some medications and environmental factors . Yes you can continue with Microgynon medication, which is good for health and can cause weight gain. I would suggest you to use benzoyl peroxide lotion twice a day after wash your face with mild soap ,apply ice for 5 minutes on affected area thrice a day .take steam before going to bed .You can also take oral antibiotics. If pimples persists or doesn't improve in one month ,consult dermatologist.
