hi my husband is suffering from OLIGOASTHENOZOOSPERMIA and has poor quality and quantity of sperm thats why we have no child.he is not taking a balance diet from the childhood and mostly eat mutton and fruit.we take many treatments and now a days he is having PROVIRON AND SURBEX Z.. i want to know is it a good treatment and how much time it will take to improve plzzzzzz reply
Hi! While it is true that diet has a role to play in sperm quality it is certainly not the only factor. There are other causes like structural defects of the sperms, varicocele, genital tract infection, antisperm antibodies, partial obstruction of sperm ducts and hormonal defects. He needs to get a hormonal evaluation, ultrasound of scrotum, antisperm antibody test etc. Let me also add that in quite a few cases one is not able to find a cause even after extensive investigation. In these cases empiric therapy is given ( antioxidant combination, kallikrein etc) with variable benefit. Nowadays with advances in Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) we have a potent weapon to fight this disorder. All the best!
