my wife was suffering from pre enclumpsia due to twin pregnancy, she gave birth to pre term (6 months)babies. after that she having problem of discharge of protiens in urine , doctors prscribed her to take Wysolone 30 mg alternate day. now she is 6 weeks pregnant , Is Waysolone 30 is harmful for baby ? or may cause complications to wife?
Hi, I have gone through your question. Wysolone is steroid and it can be safely taken in pregnancy up to 60 mg a day, without any effect on the fetus. Steroid causes deranged blood sugar levels, increased blood pressure and increased chances of intraocular pressure ( may cause glaucoma) in the person taking it for long duration. I suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist and get your wife properly examined, investigated and treated. Regular blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar levels testing and eye checkup should be done throughout the pregnancy. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health.
