What Is The Treatment For Prolonged Periods?

My most recent period ended on Sunday of last week, or so I thought. Even though for the entire day of Sunday my flow was completly gone it started again on Monday. I figured that I must not have been finished with my period but today is now Saturday of a new week and I am still spotting. I started using the ortha evra patch on the 8/mar/11 this is my second time using it, the first time I had no problem but I am now wondering if it's the reason I'm still spotting. My doubts that this is the problem however are based on the fact that I was spotting/having really light periods (light, creamy pink/light brown) prior to starting the patch. Please help me as my level of frustration is at it's highest. My periods are normally a week long i've had regular periods for 7yrs as I am 20. There is no noticeable pain, discomfort or cramping.
