What Is The Treatment For Recurrent Fever, Sore Throat, And Cough?

My wife is suffering from recurrent fevers since last 3-4 weeks with sore throat and cough ( no runny nose). She also has fatigue and sometimes feels hot. My doctor had done a blood test and the ESR is found to be 110 with Crp @ 3.7. WBS, platelests and Haemoglobin found ok. He has advised Mantoux test ( result is negative). He has now advised sputum gram stain, sputum AFB and sputum culture ( results not yet available). My wife's fever has subsided since last few days but sire throat remains with cough.

HI. Sore throat cough and fever for 3-4 weeks needs more investigations. I hope to get the results of other tests like Widal for Typhoid, X-ray Chest. ESR and CRP are pretty high. For your information ESR is more of importance to find its reduction with time as an indicator of getting well. As the Medicines have resolved fever, continue with the treatment which your Doctor is giving her. Let us wait for the reports. If anything more , please contact us with more / all reports.
